RYT 200 certified, Reiki Level One certified, and CPR/AED certified through the American Heart Association.
Melissa Ann gives back to her community by teaching free and donation based yoga classes for non-profits, and offers private classes for individuals and groups.
Melissa is located in Long Beach, but is flexible with teaching in Orange County and Los Angeles.
Melissa has been practicing yoga for over a decade. Working in PR and marketing, Melissa often finds herself bending over backwards to meet her clients’ needs. Fortunately, yoga has given her balance, strength and flexibility on her mat, and in her life. Melissa incurred a neck injury in 2010, causing chronic pain. Through her practice, she has discovered more healing and strength than she received from multiple doctors’ appointments. Melissa has found a way to manage her pain medication-free.
Yoga is mindful awareness; creating a relationship between your body and mind through your breath. Allowing you to tune out of the material world and tap into the real you, the better you. Through yoga you learn how to gently challenge yourself physically and mentally. Yoga conditions your body and mind to relax even when in challenging situations (physical or mental).
Melissa completed her RYT 200 through Yogalution Movement with a focus on Hatha Yoga. When taking a class from Melissa, expect a mellow yet challenging class. Hatha incorporates postures (asanas) and conscious breathing (Pranayama) in combination with mental focus to develop mindful awareness, strength and flexibility.
